Reaching Across the Divide

How can we navigate reconnecting with our estranged loved ones in a way that is 'safer'?

Heather and Rebecca discuss their current learning edges: for Heather, it’s been about navigating a challenging relationship with her mother. She reflects on boundaries she has held and flexed, and why they exist; and how she can best love her mother now.

Rebecca reflects on legalism, and how it feels to not always have to be ‘striving.’

Together they find some guideposts that may support those who, while wanting to reconnect to extranged loved ones, are struggling to finding a balance that covers self-protection, ongoing healing, a desire to be closer to loved ones who still hold beliefs vastly different to where we are now, and navigating the potential of judgement (by both sides).

Do you have any more suggestions for navigating this tricky territory? What’s worked and hasn’t worked for you? We’d love to hear.
